Dr. Uwe Borsch has been a research associate at the iff since 2025. He works in particular on issues relating to the design of consumer-friendly capital markets, gender equality and class actions to safeguard consumer rights.
He initially trained as a banker from 1986 to 1987, followed by several years of professional experience at Commerzbank AG.
Dr. Uwe Borsch studied law at the University of Hamburg with a semester abroad at the Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal. He passed the 1st state examination in Hamburg in 1998, followed by the 2nd state examination in Lower Saxony in 2001. He has been admitted and practicing as a lawyer since 2001. In 2007, he completed his doctorate in law at the University of Hanover with a thesis on corporate law.
Dr. Uwe Borsch is the author of numerous legal publications, primarily in the publishing houses Dr. Otto Schmidt (Cologne) and C. H. Beck (Munich). He is a member of the Federal Consumer Research Network and the Lower Saxony State Judicial Examination Office.
